It didn't seem momentous at the time when Mia stepped away from her desk and writing a novel. A break was needed, and she decided to try again to find a housewarming gift for her sister and her family. She returned to Anthropologie, even though she was recently there and didn't see anything quite right for her sister's home. She reached the large, double wooden doors and entered the two-level store.
With a little hope, Mia went downstairs to the home and furniture section. But after thirty minutes circling the bedding and pillows, curtains, picture frames, and other room décor—she accepted that the right gift wasn't there for her sister's home. It was time to leave and try on a different day. She crossed the beauty and wellness section on her way out, and something she had missed on the way down captured her attention on the way up.
It was a rose quartz pyramid with a two-inch square base. It wasn't the right gift, yet it captivated Mia. She held it in her left palm and ran her right fingers across the smooth shape and edges, feeling its energy. Her knowledge on gemstones was limited, but she knew the rose quartz was a stone of love. She didn't purchase the stone pyramid, but the energy she felt from holding it went home with her.
Each day the energy grew with its own life force inspiring Mia to explore and learn more about gemstones and their meanings. The exploration soon carried her on a journey reconnecting her with feng shui, the art of placement to enhance the harmonious flow and ensure positive results and well-being in our lives.
In a new flow and trusting the path forward, Mia set aside her novel and started creating her sister's gift. With her hands moving in a different direction, she forged together nine lemon topaz and one labradorite—each stone carrying the energy of joy, abundance, good health, and strength—into a harmonious movement of wind and water. She lifted the wall hanging art and named it sundrops. She placed the gift into a box with a note and mailed it to her sister and family. On the day they received it, her sister wrote:
It's beautiful, and we all love it. It's hanging in our kitchen with a view of our garden and lemon tree. I see it when I prepare meals and wash the dishes. When there's a breeze, it sways slightly.
Mia smiled, feeling the warmth of the joy received. She opened her bay windows wider to the breeze, thinking there is richness and beauty when we bring meaningful intentions and inspiration into our space, into our lives. From this belief, the seed of an idea formed and miamese was created.
